Ocular true tone glasses is a project based on a fantasy brief that we were given at University back in 2020.
The brief specified that we had to spread awareness for some sort of cause that meant a lot to us. At the time, I chose tuition fees and created an awareness campaign.
This project is for advertising/packaging design based on colour blindness. Whilst this is not something I have, it impacts other designers that I see on a regular basis at University and sometimes their work suffers because of it.
I am aware that the technology exists, in the form of glasses, to show colour blind people a full spectrum. Because of this, I have created the brand name 'Ocular' and the branding for it. For those who are unaware, the word 'Ocular' links to a nerve in the human eye.
Deliverables for this project included advertising billboards, as well as packaging design for the glasses themselves.
Where the three dots are shown together, the original colour spectrum in the 'O' has been passed through various filters to simulate the sort of colour spectrum the colour blind people are already seeing.
